- How to Order -
What does it cost to get started? It varies depending on your credit status. First, Sprint will check your credit. Based on the results you might need to purchase the connection card when you start the service. In other cases you might need to put money down as a deposit to get started. In both cases, we'll inform you of the amount required, and provide you with a secure server to complete the transaction. So what it will cost you depends mostly on your credit history.
You don't need to provide a credit card to place an order. If we need a credit card transaction, we'll contact you.
Can I pay with a check? Yes, you can pay for the connection card or deposit with a check. Contact us and provide checking info if a deposit is needed, and you'd rather pay with a check.
How will I get billed? Will it come out of my credit card automatically? Sprint will mail you a bill every month. You can by check, credit, or cash in a Sprint Store. You can call automated payments on your Sprint phone, or pay through Sprint.com. You can have it automatically deducted from your credit card monthly if you choose.
Can I get my company or government discount with Sprint's Mobile Broadband Service? Yes, if your company already has an agreement with Sprint, in most cases those discounts apply to mobile broadband service as well. When you're placing your order, use your company or government email address, and ask us to check into your corporate or government discount. We'll look it up in our database.
I didn't find a rebate form with my connection card. How do I get my rebate? Rebate Information is here.
Are all of the Connection Cards Free? We usually have one or more cards available that are ultimately free to users through mail-in rebates. These cards usually retail for $199.99 or more! But we combine instant rebates with possible mail-in rebates to give you the lowest price possible, sometimes even free. Visit the order form page to see the current card pricing and promotions. Most likely you'll have to purchase a connection card, and then mail in a rebate form to get it for "free".
Do I have to sign up for two years? Can I use it for a few months? We dig through the myriad of pricing structures and service agreements to find the best packages for our customers. And the only way we can get you mobile broadband at such a low monthly price is with a two year commitment. It's the best deal on the fastest, largest network in the country.
Is there a free trial? There is a trial period, but it's not free. Try the service for 30 days, and if you don't want to continue, cancel the service and return the card. You'll pay only for the one month's service ($59.99), you won't be obligated to the two-year service agreement, and you won't pay an early termination fee.
Can I get a discount for equipping my entire staff with mobile broadband? Yes, and right now there are additional savings to be had for businesses or organizations that order 5 or more connection cards. Contact us to learn more about discounts and promotions for your organization.
Next Day Delivery? Great! So I can expect to get my card the very next day?? In most cases, yes, but there are exceptions. Remember that we have to first run a credit check, and in some cases we will have to stop processing your order and request a credit card payment for the connection card cost, a security deposit, or both. That can slow down order processing for many hours (the request for a deposit comes to you via email). If you provided a credit card during or after ordering, we can proceed with the order. If not, we will need to secure your credit card information before your order can be processed.
Sometimes, just like in any business that holds an inventory, our stock runs out temporarily, despite the fact that we pull from the largest inventory available. We usually receive replacement inventory within 1-2 days, during which time your order goes into "backorder" status. If we learn that cards won't be available for more than 1 day, we contact you to discuss options, like changing your order to a different card.
The card says "BackOrdered", but that's the card I want. Can I still order it? Yes, if the option is available on the order form to select that card, you can order it. Backorders are usually shipped out in 2-3 days.
- Coverage -
Does this service cover the entire US? Can I be on a mountain top or a beach, and check my email?
Sprint has the largest, fastest, most powerful network in the country. But it's not everywhere...yet. So please make sure that you have coverage available where you plan to use this service. Yes, you can be in remote locations and use this service if you have a Sprint PCS or Power Vision signal.
These cards work on two Sprint networks: 1. Sprint PCS Network - The same network that Sprint phones use - these cards will work on this network, and achieve speeds up to three times as fast as dialup. This is the single largest network in the US.
2. Sprint PowerVision Network - This network provides wireless broadband speeds. It's the largest mobile broadband network in the country, but smaller than the PCS network.
How do I check for coverage? Visit the interactive coverage map page, to get instructions and access to the map. You'll see the results on screen with dark green areas showing the Sprint PCS Network, and orange areas showing the Sprint PowerVision Network. Video Tutorial (Flash, 320x200, 44 seconds)
Does this mobile broadband service work in other countries? Yes, some. You can roam in Canada and Mexico with your current plan, and pay a fee per kilobyte. Or our international plan for $99.99 per month gives you 5Gb bandwidth in those countries. Request the internationl plan in the notes field of the order form, or call us and we'll place your order over the phone for international plans.
Sprint's service does NOT currently work in Iraq or other Middle East countries, sorry.
- Technical - Will this card work in my computer? Yes, we have three types of connection cards and we can guarantee that at least one of them will work in your computer, laptop or desktop. And in most cases we can get you a working card for under $100. If you have coverage and you're ready to order, call us and we'll work out the connection card issues while we complete your order. We use an extensive research system that includes nearly every computer manufactured, so we get it right every time.
Which card is fastest? All cards are rated for the top speed and compatible with the latest network technology (called "Rev A"). No one card is faster than another.
What's the difference between these cards? All are rated for top download speeds, sometimes there's a price difference. Sometimes you get what you pay for (i.e., "inexpensive may be cheap, but sometimes you get a great deal. We guide our customers through connection card selection during the ordering process.
How do I install this card? When you receive your package it will contain software on CD. Read the included instructions, install the software and follow on screen instructions to complete the installation. The card comes pre-configured for your use.
I lost the Software CD for my card. Can I get a replacement? You can download software for your connection card from the Downloads section.
I have two computers. Can I use one card with two computers? Yes. Just install the Connection Manager software on both computers.
Can I order one service and get two cards? No. Each card represents a service with its own monthly fee.
How can I connect two or more computers to one card? It's easy, and getting easier. A few manufacturers are now selling EVDO routers, including Kyocera and Top Global USA. Insert a connection card into the router, and use wi-fi or ethernet cable to connect multiple computers to one connection card. You can connect a home office, small office, mobile office, tradeshow event, exhibit booth, contruction zone, roving broadcasters, campsite, etc.
Will this work on an Apple laptop? Yes. Sprint supports Apple laptops with Intel Processors and OS X 10.4 or greater. Some cards are ideally suited for Mac's, so call us when you're ready to order and we'll help you pick out the right one for your Macbook or Macbook Pro.
Do these cards work with Windows Vista? All cards are supported by Vista except for the Pantech PX500. Support for that card with Windows Vista will come later in 2007. I can't get my Pantech PX500 working. The software on the CD won't install. Some customers who recently purchased a Pantech PX-500 Mobile Broadband Card have experienced an issue when trying to install the Sprint Connection Manager which is included on the CD (Version 3.02.021). This issue stems from a problem with the InstallShield Drivers and prevents the software from installing. Replacement of CDs is underway for current inventory.
If you encounter this issue, you should do the following:
1. Download the prior version of the Sprint Connection Manager (Version 3.02.019) from www.sprint.com/downloads 2. Complete installation of this prior version 3. After installation is completed and user is connected, they should update their CM to Version 3.02.021 by completing these steps within the CM:
Step 1. Click "Menu" Step 2. Click "Software Updates" Step 3. Click "Check Now"

I think my connection card is defective. I tried troubleshooting and the FAQ's, but it didn't help. Is there a warranty available? For Warranty information please call Sprint at 1-888-788-4727.
Can I get a static IP with this service? Sorry, static IP addresses are not available.
- Using the Service -
What are the bandwidth limitations 5 gigabytes per month, including uploads and downloads (all internet activity).
What usage is allowed? Can I watch streaming video, or listen to streaming music? Yes you can. You can do all the things you love to do on the internet.
My software says I'm "roaming". Is there a charge for roaming and if so how much is it? Currently there is no charge for roaming in the US.
Can I use wi-fi too? Yes. You won't have to disable other networking services to use Sprint's service.
What's the difference between wi-fi and Sprint? Can't I use the wifi card in my computer? Wi-fi and EV-DO use different frequencies. Wi-fi's frequency can carry a quality signal about 300 feet. EV-DO's signals carries for a few miles. These are two different technologies altogether.
What is EV-DO? "Evolution Data Optimized" is the technology that provides mobile broadband services. It's a different technology than what the phones use. EV-DO in detail, and CDMA in detail.
What is Rev A? Revision A is an improvement to existing EV-DO technology. It's a hardware and software upgrade that boosts download and upload speeds. Your connection card has to include Rev A hardware to access the higher speeds, and be in an area with upgraded cell towers. Sprint launched Rev A technology in San Diego, in October 2006. The entire mobile broadband network will be upgraded by summer of 2007.
What's so great about Rev A? It's fast enough that you could replace your DSL or Cable internet service with Sprint Mobile Broadband. It's that fast..
I don't have a Rev A card. Will I still be able to use the original Rev O network? Yes. The upgrade will not end the Rev O service but you'll be missing out on an improved network. We recommend you upgrade now.
- Other -
I got a letter from Sprint after I placed an order. What's that about? When a company checks your credit with a credit reporting company, the company has to report that to you, and the results of that credit check. What you received was a letter explaining that your credit history was checked, and results of that credit check.
I'd like to cancel the service. How do I do that? For Returns please call Sprint at 1-888-788-4727
